| Description | This circular route starts from the car park, leading us initially through the churchyard before joining the Limestone Way. We will follow this trail as it descends through the beautiful Fern Dale and into the stunning Lathkill Dale. The walk continues along the base of Lathkill Dale until we reach its far end, where we ascend to the village of Over Haddon and then across Bole Hill. Crossing the main street, we will take the footpath to the fascinating ruin of Magpie Mine. From there, the route heads north to the village of Sheldon, descends into Deep Dale, and finally leads us back to the car park. There is one steep descent that requires care and cautious footing. Please bring a head torch, just in case, as daylight hours in December are significantly shorter. |
