| Walk Name | Elsecar, Wentworth and the Follies |
| Description | Starting at Elsecar Heritage Centre we walk up through woodland and across fields to the Needle’s Eye and on towards Hoober Stand where we stop for coffee. It’s then across fields, through Hoober itself and Nether Haugh and down past the Rockingham monument to Greasbrough Dams. Lunch stop at the far end of the dams and back round and up to the magnificence that is Wentworth Woodhouse. From Wentworth village it’s back across fields and woodland to the start point and refreshments either in the pub or the café at the Heritage Centre. There will be a buzzing atmosphere at the House as it’s the Great British Food Festival weekend. Easy walking along paths and through fields and woodland but the ground is uneven in places and can be muddy and slippery if wet so please ensure you have suitable footwear. |
