Day Wednesday
Date 06/05/2026
Start Time 10:00 am
Walk Name Buxton and Axe edge Moor circular
Description Starting in the elegant spa town of Buxton, this scenic walk quickly leaves the bustle behind as you climb up through woodland towards the hilltop landmark of Solomon’s Temple. From the tower, sweeping views open out across the Peak District, giving a sense of the terrain ahead.

Continuing onward, the path leads into the wide, open expanse of Axe Edge Moor, where the landscape becomes wilder and more rugged. Here, peat moorland, distant ridgelines, and big skies create a peaceful, remote atmosphere. The route offers a satisfying mix of gentle climbs and open walking, before eventually looping back towards Buxton, leaving you with a refreshing taste of the Peak District’s quieter side.

Additional information: 2 busy road crossings and a minor road walk (very quiet)
