Day Sunday
Date 14/12/2025
Start Time 9:00 am - EARLY START
Walk Name Mount Famine, Hills, and Moors
Description Several times we passed Mount Famine without going up to the top—either we were tired or running late—so I decided to plan a walk!
During the recce, the view from the top was truly rewarding, overlooking Kinder Scout, Chinley, and Hayfield.
Circular Route: From the car park, we’ll head up to Tunstead Clough Farm, then continue to Kinder Low and Swine’s Back.
Just before reaching Brown Knoll, we’ll take the footpath on the right to reach South Head. From there, we’ll ascend to the top of Mount Famine.
Afterwards, we’ll descend to Peep-O-Day Farm, climb up to Hills Farm, and then drop down again to Birch Vale. Finally, we’ll pass through Upper Cliffe Farm, Little Hayfield, Grouse Butt, and return to the car park.
