Walk Name | Chatsworth views and riverside |
Description | This is practically the last chance to park for free at Chatsworth House this year before free car parking ends on 12th March. This is a fairly easy walk with lovely views on a clear day. From Chatsworth, we head to Edensor and a constant uphill to our tea stop near Ballcross Farm. Then we head across Calton Pastures, into Manners Wood and it’s all downhill to Rowsley where we stop for lunch. Please bring a picnic lunch. The Post Office / shop at Rowsley is happy for us to sit on their benches outside for lunch as long as you buy a cup of tea / cake from the shop. After lunch we head back to Chatsworth along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way by the river. Drink at the end in the newly refurbished Stables cafe at Chatsworth. Toilets at Chatsworth and also at the Peak Village Shopping Centre at Rowsley |
