| Description | Station to station over the foothills of the Pennines. We start at Chinley at 10.00 a.m. The walk starts with a steady long, steep at first, climb from Chinley to peak at Brown Knoll before starting a steady descent via Edale Cross and Jacob's Ladder to Edale. If you’ve parked at Chinley then catch the train back from Edale (the 16.47 arrives back in Chinley at 16.54 and trains are hourly). If you came out on the 9.14 train from Sheffield then the trains back are at 30 minutes past the hour. |

| Additional Information | No Dogs. Dress for the weather and bring your lunch and drinks. I’m choosing boots, and I always carry my poles. NB Sheffield station has free toilets. Soz, no ‘proper’ loos at Chinley. If you’re travelling to the start by train then buy an off peak return to Chinley. We get on at Edale for return trips. NB Mick is travelling to the start on the 9.14 train from Sheffield to Chinley. Pls let Mick know if you're joining the walk from a different station or at Chinley. NB a return is guaranteed but not a specific return time, e.g. depends on the speed of the walk and us walkers, incidents may occur, the group decides to hang out sheep watching etc |
