Description | Starting in Grenoside we walk through Wheata woods and onto Wharncliffe Chase (American bison lived here once) with good views on a clear day. Across the moor and onto the edge of the crags before walking through Wharncliffe woods and back to Grenoside. Forest tracks and paths with a few ups and downs, nothing too difficult. Expect some mud. Bus 86 leaves from Sheffield and arrives at 9.42am saltbox lane/halifax road. it's a 5 to 10 min walk up to the cow and calf pub. I will be just round the corner Drinks in the cosy Cow and Calf pub that has recently reopened. |
