Walk Name | Twin Peaks and a loopy boat |
Description | A Twixtmas walk to blow some cobwebs away close to Sheffield City Centre but nearly all off-road through edgelands, parks and green spaces. From the start in the Canal Basin the route goes through the Wicker and up into Pitsmoor and onto the look-out at Parkwood Springs. It then descends through Roe Woods to Osgathorpe and Grimesthorpe. The second ascent is up Wincobank then across Wincobank Common and Roma Ridge, down around Meadowhell to the canal at Tinsley Viaduct. The return is along the canal, past the loopy boat (google it …), and picks up the Five Weirs Way at the Arena to head back to the Canal Basin. |
