Walk Name | Combs moor full circuit |
Description | We start from the car park and follow various footpaths to White Hall centre. We ascend the moor and follow the edge all the way round taking in Castle Naze hillfort Circa 800BC. The views if weather good are excellent and there is an interesting river crossing at the head of a small gorge. The return route is the way we came up. notes NO DOGS. The moor is private and the landowner does not allow dogs. It is a quiet route and some of the paths are becoming overgrown. Unless the traffic scheme allows us to drive up the valley to the Cat and fiddle there is no pub at the end .Sorry about that! |
