Chair

The Chair has overall responsibility for all group activities and for the general direction of the group. They also chair committee meetings and the AGM.

Group Secretary

The Group Secretary handles group email, deals with member queries and minutes committee meetings. They also manage our membership data, adding new members and sending info to those who join. They also liase with the Ramblers Association regarding group and membership matters.

Walks Co-ordinator

Mandy Kippax

The Walks Co-ordinator is responsible for pulling together a full programme of walks and encouraging and advising new walk leaders. The walks coordinator also organises walk leader meetings and coordinates walks for our weekends away.
Volunteers to lead walks are always welcome - please contact the co‑ordinator on the group email address.

Socials and Weekends Co-ordinator

The Socials and Weekends Co-ordinator is responsible for pulling together a programme of socials and weekends. They head our Socials committee, and the process is similar to how we do walks, spreading the load for organising individual socials and weekends among members of the committee. This position is unfortunately still vacant, however, everyone is still welcome to organise social events including 'book your own accommodation' weekends away. Simply send the details to sheffield40swg@gmail.com and they will be added to the website.
Volunteers to organise a social or weekend are always welcome - please contact the co‑ordinator on the group email address.

Treasurer

The Treasurer handles the group's finances. The role includes preparing regular statements for the committee and the Annual Report to Ramblers, as well as ensuring the group maintains a working capital and remains in the black.

Training Co-ordinator

The Training Co-ordinator organises training for walk leaders and other members.

Footpath Secretary

Lucia Contrino

The Footpath Officer is responsible for making sure that we all know how to report any issues we come across with footpaths (eg broken stiles, missing signposts, blocked paths). The Footpath Officer will also represent our Ramblers group on rights of way issues with the local authority. They may also get involved in any planning application consultations that affect our footpaths.

SYNED representative (South Yorkshire & NE Derbyshire Area Ramblers)

Richard Mills

The SYNED representative is reponsible for attending SYNED meetings, and updating the committee on any relevant SYNED activities that affect our group.

Web Editor

Thea Anning

The Web Editor is responsible for the upkeep of this website, plus occasional admin of the IT systems.
