the programme. We suggest people use the message board to share
lifts. We will endeavour to put details of public transport to get you
to the start of a walk but if you need help the walk leader should be able to
advise..

A
gentle re-introduction back into polite society after the bacchanalian
excesses of the “festive” period. From Calton
Lees car park we wander up the hill and over into Edensor
then along the river a bit, up the hill past the folly and over to Beeley for yet more drinks.

Outlaw Stanage new Year Starter
|
|
A stiff new year’s walk to
work off the effects of Christmas and New Year. From Hathersage
we climb up to the top of Stanage edge, which we follow
past Robin Hood’s cave to Upper
Burbage
Bridge. From here we
head for Higger Tor
before heading down Callow Bank, passing by Little John’s grave (where you
can feed the meter) before returning to Hathersage.

Black Hill and Laddow Rocks
|
|
None more black. From Crowden we
follow Crowden Brook till the path runs out. Then
there’s a short pathless ascent to get to Westend
Moss. We then follow the path to Black Hill to see if the trig point is
still there. On the return we follow the ridge past the rugged Laddow rocks back to the carpark.

An easy introductory walk
just outside the City. This walk is especially aimed at potential new
group members who would like to get a feel for walking without having to
join a full 10+ mile walk, and Current members who don’t feel like a full
walk
No need for rucksacks, just boots (it may be muddy)
and waterproofs. Bring something to snack on and a drink.
Bus No. 30 (Dore) from Commercial St
at 11:55 and 12:25. Goes up Glossop Road and down Brocco
Bank to Hunters Bar and Ecclesall Road. Get off
at Whirlowbrook Hall arriving 12:15 and 12:45
respectively.
