Walks: Useful Information

SIGNING UP:
Please can you book on by noon the day before the walk by texting the walk leader. Please note that the walk leader will not text you back/reply unless there is a problem with your booking (e.g. walk full or details changed).

When texting, please respect walk leaders request for texts only at certain times, and be considerate by texting at a reasonable hour. If you have any questions, please phone and speak to the walk leader. Please note that the walk leaders can't be expected to phone you back.

MEETING:
A grid reference and a map link are provided to help you locate the meeting point that will normally be at the start of the walk as detailed in the programme. We have a dedicated message board for people to arrange car sharing, so if you sign up for a walk and you are willing to offer someone a lift, please go to the Car Sharing message board. Please arrange lifts in plenty of time before the day of the walk. We will endeavour to supply details of public transport to get you to the start of a walk but you can plan your own journey using websites such as Transport Direct or Traveline.

WALK GRADING:

Distance Difficulty
A = up to 8 miles 1 = easy
B = 9 to 12 miles 2 = medium
C = over 12 miles 3 = hard

Please make sure that you are fit enough to undertake the walk you intend to join. If you're unsure of your fitness level, try a short and easy walk first: it's much better to find a walk a little too slow and easy than to make yourself miserable and exhausted. If in doubt contact the walk leader ahead of the walk.
