Peaks of the Upper Dove |
|
A walk amongst the distinctive former reef knolls of the upper Dove Valley starting from the ancient hilltop village of Longnor. From Longnor we head down to the Dove Valley towards Hollinsclough and down to the Dove. We then head up towards Chrome Hill, which we ascend quite steeply before walking along an exposed ridge. After enjoying the fine views of the Dove valley we descend steeply on a grass slope from the summit before following a lane uphill. A short steep path then leads us up to Earl Sterndale before descending back to the Dove Valley before the final climb back up to Longnor for a well earned cup of tea and cake in the Craft Centre or a pint in one of the pubs.
