As the weekends away and meals out are always oversubscribed and tend to fill up almost as soon as they hit the website, we have to restrict them to current members of SWG40s. However, everyone is welcome on a pub night out, especially if you are new to the group or you are thinking about joining us.

Llanberis Weekend Away
Fully Booked!Dates:7th - 9th June 2013
Details: We are off to North Wales to stay in a fabulous bunkhouse, Chamois Mountaineering House near Llanberis for 2 nights. The accommodation is bunk beds with 2, 3 or 4 to a room. You will need to bring sleeping bags and towels.
Cost: £38 for 2 nights accomodation

SWG40s Pub Meet
Date: Friday 14th June 2013
Time: 8pm till late
Details: Our regular pub night! We meet in the The Red Deer Sheffield. About 9pm we will meander off and see where the night takes us! This is a great night to join us if you are new or thinking about joining, and someone will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the group

Dent Music & Beer Festival
Dates: 28th - 30th June 2013
Details: It's our third year at Dent & the Committee personally guarantee that the sun will be in the sky. Whether we can see it or not is another matter, and frankly who cares when you have such a good range of beer to quaff and music to massage your ears. Booking Details:We have booked 30 pitches at High Laning Campsite, Dent. Cost for 2 nights camping is £25/person which includes the festival wristband which last year meant you could get a discount on the beer! 40s New Forest Camping Weekend
Dates: 12th - 14th July 2013
Details: Now spring is on the way, time to think about summer! Join the Hampshire 40+ walking group for a camping weekend in the New Forest at Foxlease on the outskirts of Lyndhurst. A number of other 40s walking groups from around the country have been invited. The campsite is within walking distance of pubs and restaurants in Lyndhurst. There will be organised walks from the campsite both days and also a bike ride as an alternative option.
Booking Details: Early registrations of interest would be appreciated because if there are sufficient numbers, an additional campsite will be booked to make it an even bigger party! The cost will be £7 per night per person and final numbers and payment will be required by 15 May 2013. Kinlochleven Munro Week (MEMBER ORGANISED HOLIDAY)
Dates: 17th – 24th August 2013
Details: Mike & Jane are hosting a Munro walking week based at Kinlochleven in the Scottish Highlands, and tackling some of the harder peaks in the area. Hut to Hut in the Julian Alps, Slovenia (MEMBER ORGANISED HOLIDAY)
Dates: 7th – 14th September 2013
Details: Mike & Jane are leading a trip to the Julian Alps. A week of guided walking staying in mountain huts. A fairly challenging itinerary offering the opportunity to experience the spectacular high mountain scenery of the Triglav National Park and hopefully climb Triglav, the highest summit. Grasmere Weekend
Dates: 11th - 13th October 2013
Details: We are off to picturesque Grasmere for a weekend at the fabulous Grasmere Independent Hostel. Checkout the website to get a flavour of the place. Features and benefits include:
Booking Details:There are 20 places available. Cost is £50 each for two nights (Friday and Saturday). Payment must be made on booking or ASAP. To book a place, please text your full name and email address, confirming you are happy for your email to be shared with others attending the weekend, to Sarah (from Notts) on 07823 325704, who will then email you further details including where to send the cheque (made payable to: Sheffield 40's Walking Group) .
IF we sell all 20 hostel places, additional places may be available later (up to 10 MAX) to cater for those who may prefer other levels of comfort; B&Bs, Hymers, VW Camper Vans, Yurts etc. (you know who you are). Sarah will be taking bookings for the hostel only until it fills. Please feel free to register your interest with her for the alternatives! Places are only available to members of SWG40s.
